Katie AllenKatie is a senior at GBS and is one of the Co-Presidents at GBS UNICEF for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been actively involved in the club since her sophomore year, and is very happy to be returning as a board member! She joined the club in the hope to help contribute to UNICEF’s many important causes, and is excited to step up her involvement this year. Outside of UNICEF, Katie is a Senior Messages editor for the yearbook, and is involved in Journalism Club, CEC Club, and GBS Field Hockey! In her free time, she enjoys reading, going on walks with her family, listening to music, and spending time with her friends. Katie is very excited to see the path the club takes this year, as well as using her role to help bring more awareness to South students of issues going on in the world, as well as what they can do to help.

Sarina Harjani
Sarina is a junior at GBS and is very excited to be leading the UNICEF board this year as one of the co-presidents. She has been actively involved in UNICEF since her freshman year and originally joined to help make a difference in the community. In addition to UNICEF, Sarina is a member of a variety of clubs including Debate, Model UN, Mock Trial, Law Club, Interact, and Women in Business. She also enjoys being a part of both the GBS tennis and track team. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her friends and family, as well as watch new TV shows. Sarina can’t wait for her second year as a UNICEF board member, and she hopes to help people across the globe!
Ryan Phair
Ryan is a junior on the GBS UNICEF board. She is excited to advocate for children’s rights while being on board as the publicity chair this year. Ryan also is the co-founder of Girl Rising, a new club at GBS that advocates for young women's education. She is also involved in Med-Chapter Club, Interact, a TLC Tutor, and involved in the GBS girl's soccer program. Ryan has been involved in UNICEF since her sophomore year. She is looking forward to working with the board and can’t wait for this year with UNICEF!
Olivia HaravonOlivia is a junior at GBS and is thrilled to be apart of the UNICEF board as a Fundraising chair for the 2023-2024 school year! Olivia has actively participated in the club since sophomore year and had the opportunity to be a Co-President shadow. She is extremely excited to see how the club develops through the year and hopes to continue contributing to UNICEF’s mission to help children all around the globe. Outside of UNICEF, you can find Olivia in the dance room practicing for football games and competition. She is a member of Key Club and Varsity Poms. In her free time she likes to listen to music, get ice cream with friends, and watch new tv shows on Netflix. Olivia can’t wait for the new year to start and to see all of the great things UNICEF achieves!

Ishana ShahIshana is a Junior at GBS and this is her first year on the UNICEF board. She has been an active participant of the club since her Freshman year and is excited for the opportunity to participate on the board as the Community Outreach chair. Ishana has always had a passion for service work and loves to contribute her time volunteering through various organizations. Outside of UNICEF she is a part of Medical Chapter Club, Law Club, and Varsity Tennis. Ishana enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, and watching movies. She is looking forward to working with the board and can’t wait for this year with UNICEF!

Victoria MarinovaVictoria is a senior at GBS and is one of the Fundraising Chair’s at GBS UNICEF for the 2023-2024 school year. She has been actively involved in UNICEF since her Sophomore year and can’t wait to continue her UNICEF journey while also working behind the scenes this year. Victoria feels passionate and excited to be able to have the opportunity to continue making a difference and spreading awareness about UNICEF’s important and essential missions. She can’t wait to see UNICEF accomplish their goals this year and do an amazing job spreading awareness. Aside from UNICEF, Victoria is involved in a variety of different clubs throughout the school. Services clubs such as Key Club and Interact, and special interest clubs such as SAFE and Med-Chapter. Outside of school she enjoys listening to music, spending time with friends, and traveling around the world with her friends and family. Overall she is very excited to be apart of UNICEF and cannot wait for this year to begin and see how many great things the year has to offer.

Iris DoCeci is a senior at GBS and serves as the Fundraising Chair. She has been a member of the GBS UNICEF club since her Freshman year and is super excited to be on the board for another year. She is extremely passionate about UNICEF’s mission and making a change in the world. Ceci hopes to educate herself further on issues around the world and raise the money for communities in need. At GBS, she takes part in a variety of clubs including Mock Trial, Women in Business, and Interact. She also tutors in the TLC and is a peer group leader. Outside of school, she volunteers at the Field Museum, volunteers at the Glenview Public Library, and spends time with her dog. Overall, Ceci is thrilled to be on the GBS UNICEF board and can not wait to grow the club even further!

Alex LukasAlex is a junior at GBS and is the secretary for the GBS UNICEF club for the 2023-2024 school year. Alex has been an active member of the UNICEF club since the beginning of his Freshman year and is excited to be on the board this year. Alex is very passionate about UNICEF’s mission and all of the Sustainable Development Goals that UNICEF believes in. Alex strongly believes that participating in UNICEF is a great way to do good in this world. At GBS, Alex is a member of different clubs including math team, mock trial, and law club. Alex is also a part of the GBS golf team and enjoys golfing outside of school. Alex is a four year caddy and golf camp counselor. Alex is excited to be a part of the UNICEF program and can not wait to see how much good the UNICEF club can do this school year.
Allie ShelestAllie is a senior this year and is one of the Advocacy Chair’s for the 2023-2024 school year. Allie has loved being a part of UNICEF and its mission. She is passionate about UNICEF’s causes and wants to create change through UNICEF’s fundraisers and events. At South, Allie is a co-editor-in-chief of the yearbook and is involved in Journalism Club and Calliope. She also volunteers in the TLC and is a Peer Group Leader. Outside of school, she enjoys going to the beach, listening to music, and having long dinners with friends and family. Allie cannot wait to help others through UNICEF.

Tali is a Senior and is beyond excited to join the Unicef board this year as the community outreach chair. She began her involvement in the Unicef program her sophomore year with projects such as the Care Package Fundraiser for the Sister Pauline’s Needy Family Fund and more! In addition to Unicef, Tali is the video editor for the Stitched fashion magazine and has served as Vice President for the class of 2024 for three years. Tali can’t wait to help the Unicef community grow at Glenbrook South and is always happy to help with any questions regarding Unicef or any GBS events.
